HEALTH SERVICES
All Naples fire departments have fully equipped emergency
rescue vehicles with trained paramedics. All outlying communities
are equipped with emergency and urgent care satellites.
The Naples Community Hospital has two locations. The
North Naples Center includes a birthing unit for parents wishing to experience
natural as well as traditional childbirth.
The newest addition to the Naples medical landscape
is the Cleveland Clinic. A cousin to the esteemed Ohio facility,
the Clinic provides routine care while specializing in the diagnosis
and treatment of complex medical conditions requiring extended care.
EDUCATION
Collier County has over 37 public schools within its
quality educational system. In addition to the public schools, the private
schools offer an Ivy League education. Edison College, a Fort Myers
based higher education facility with a Naples campus, offers two and
four year programs as well as transfer credit programs. Florida
Gulf Coast University, the state's 10th and newest, welcomed its
first students in August of 1997. The first wave of 4,700 students
is expected to grow to 10,000. There are adult education programs,
trade schools and a Vocational Tech Center. The International College
recently opened a Naples campus and offers a four year degree through
a master's degree. Under construction, Ave Maria University is
a private Catholic institution, scheduled to open in 2006 in the Naples/Immokalee
area.
